New York Jets and St. Mary’s Kids

St. Mary’s kids are enjoying spending time with their favorite NFL heroes, The New York Jets. The New York football team has formed a strong relationship with St. Mary’s during Coach Eric Mangini’s first visit to the hospital earlier this year, when he got an opportunity to tour the hospital and hang out with some of New York’s toughest children battling complex medical conditions.

Coach Mangini then brought his generosity and affection for the children to the airwaves, as he became the voice of St. Mary’s radio public service announcements on 1010 WINS, CBS AM, and 106.7 Lite FM.

The generosity continued to pour in as first round draft pick Dustin Keller and fifth round draft pick Erik Ainge spent time with kids of St. Mary’s during an exciting football game at the Bayside Hospital where the rookies created special memories that will last a lifetime for children at St. Mary’s, as they gave out autographed hats and met with children and their families.

The excitement continued as the children decided it was time to visit the Jets on their turf. The kids were guests of Coach Mangini and the New York Jets as they prepared for the upcoming NFL season at training camp at Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island in July. As part of their visit, Coach Mangini donated new Reebok sneakers to the kids.
