The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for the greater New York City metropolitan area effective through Tuesday night, with forecasts of snow accumulation of at least 1 to 2 feet combined with wind gusts of up to 50 MPH. St. Mary’s Hospital for Children
St. Mary’s Hospital for Children is fully prepared for the impending storm. Our trained staff is prepared for these types of emergencies and plan accordingly. Families are urged to remain at home until after the storm. You may get updates on your child by calling the nursing units or through the reception desk at 718-281-8800. If there is a power outage, our telephone system will revert to the “plain old telephone service” (POTS) system.

St. Mary’s Community Program’s Emergency Plan has been activated. To ensure that our patients and families are safe and prepared, please make sure that you have enough non-perishable food, water, medications, supplies, flashlights and batteries. It is also advisable to keep your cell phone charged.
If you or a family member has life-sustaining equipment, batteries should be charged and a generator available for use if a power-outage occur. If an emergency situation arises, please call 911. Our dedicated staff will try to make home visits to our high priority patients during this emergency, however there may be delays or appointments may be re-scheduled.
