Bayada Nurses Hosted Toy Boutique at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children to Provide a Happy Holiday for Patients and Families

Long Island Caregivers Give Back to Children with Special Needs

The patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children had the opportunity to shop for holiday presents for their family members, all courtesy of Bayada Nurses in Garden City, Long Island.

Nurses, therapists and social workers of Bayada Nurses are committed caring home care professionals dedicated to providing a better quality of life for patients and thier families, and this holiday season, they went above and beyond the call of duty by hosting a gift boutique at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside, where children were able to “shop” for holiday gifts for their families and even had their presents wrapped, all free of charge.

The boutique was stocked with toys, books, clothes, ornaments, jewelry and other holiday items, all purchased by Bayada, and was open to all inpatient and Pediatric Day Healthcare After school patients at St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s kids are battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions due to serious illness, accident, or complications of premature birth. While some are wheelchair bound, others are bed ridden and would not have otherwise had the opportunity to shop for presents and experience the joy of choosing a gift for a loved one.

Bayada Nurses helped provide a happier holiday season for patients and families through this invaluable service, and St. Mary’s staff and children all grateful to have such compassionate professions on their side who really care.

Bayada Nurses provides nursing, rehabilitative, therapeutic, and personal care services to children, adults, and seniors in the comfort of their own home and help patients gain comfort and independence. Their services are provided in over 170 offices in 18 states.
