The Jennie Foundation is a generous group that helps families of critically ill children in a variety of ways. Established in 2016 by the family of Jennie LePera to honor her memory, the foundation partners with children’s hospitals and other organizations in a variety of ways to help meet the many needs of families with hospitalized children. The foundation also helps students who have overcome hardship or adversity and wish to study nursing, music, or culinary arts – all careers in fields that Jennie loved.
Additionally, the foundation members generously donate their time to provide families at their local hospital with home-cooked meals prepared by foundation volunteers.
For the families and social workers of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, the Jennie Foundation is having a tremendous impact, thanks to their generous donations of much-needed items like gift cards, pajamas, and even travel support! “It is because of their generous support that we are able to provide MetroCards to our families,” said Roselyn Vasquez, Patient & Family Services Experience Coordinator at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. “The MetroCards offer families ease in transport when trying to arrange visits with their children or when scheduling appointments. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.”
