The Michael Mulhall Foundation, a charitable partner with St. Mary’s Hospital for Children since 2015, was founded to commemorate Michael Mulhall who passed away in a car accident on his way to work at Camp Anchor; a program dedicated to serving individuals with special needs in the Town of Hempstead, Long Island. Their mission is to provide financial assistance to families with children that have special needs.
On Sunday, May 19th, Board Members from The Michael Mulhall Foundation presented St. Mary’s Hospital for Children with $40,000 to help several medically complex children whose adaptive equipment and program services are not covered under insurance or Medicaid. To date The Michael Mulhall Foundation has funded several customized wheelchairs, therapy bicycles, home ramps, special strollers, and adaptive home equipment both for inpatients and at home. Their support has also played an important role in St. Mary’s Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program, providing 25 Locomotor Training sessions to one of our patients in the program.
St. Mary’s is proud to work with The Michael Mulhall Foundation in helping St. Mary’s Kids heal and thrive making it much easier for their families.
