St. Mary’s Kids Can Always Count on Group’s Continuing Generosity
During these challenging times, one group still finds it in their hearts to give back to others.
The members of the Knights of Pythias have once again opened their hearts to the remarkable children of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.
On Friday, April 24th, Sidney Weber of the North Shore Lodge 824 of Douglaston-Great Neck, arrived at the Bayside hospital with a brand new Deluxe Walker that will benefit a young patient of St. Mary’s.
The children of St. Mary’s are battling some of the most life-limiting and complex medical conditions, and receive post-acute pediatric care through St. Mary’s comprehensive network of inpatient, home care, and community programs and services.
This isn’t the first time the Knights have lent thier support to St. Mary’s, and it certainly won’t be the last. For the past few years the group has helped to bring a little cheer to the inpatient facility through their meaningful contributions, in-kind donations, events and fundraisers in support of raising awareness and funds for the organization, and above all, through their heartfelt visits with patients and their families where they create long-lasting friendships.
The Knights have taken St. Mary’s under their wing, becoming a community leader and champion for the upcoming Walk for St. Mary’s Kids and Family Fun Day to be held on Sunday, May 17th at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY.
We salute the Knights of Pythias for their diligent efforts in helping to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs!!
