Meet Ki Yeon Lee, Licensed Behavior Analyst at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. Ki Yeon’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of children with autism and her shared commitment to St. Mary’s mission make her an invaluable asset to our team. Let’s learn more about her experiences, values, and career progression.
What do you find most rewarding about working at St. Mary’s?
“I really love making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with autism and helping them reach their full potential. Watching them grow and being part of that process are both very rewarding!”
How do you see your position aligning with the mission of St. Mary’s?
“I highly value compassion, quality, and integrity. These values matter because they serve as my compass that shapes my decisions and actions as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA). I deeply resonate with St. Mary’s because of their mission of ensuring high-quality services to their patients.”
Describe your career progression throughout your time here at St. Mary’s.
“First, I started off as a Registered Behavior Technician at Extraordinary Pediatrics from November 2019 through October 2023. I was providing home-based ABA services to children diagnosed with autism. While I found the experience meaningful, I wanted to do more in applied behavior analysis for children with various needs and their families. So, I entered the ABA graduate program at Queens College and graduated two years later.
During the program, I accrued supervised fieldwork hours with Extraordinary Pediatrics at St. Mary’s Kids. Once I passed the BCBA exam and became licensed, I progressed in my role as a Licensed Behavior Analyst. I have a profession that I not only love but one that constantly challenges me. Each child teaches me something different every day
