Spirit Halloween host “Spooktacular” Halloween Party for St. Mary’s Kids

Patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children spent an afternoon with tricks and treats and lots of fun-filled Halloween festivities courtesy of Spirit Halloween —the country’s leading seasonal Halloween retailer. The Spirit Halloween staff joined by Saban’s Power Rangers engaged the children with arts and crafts and an array of Halloween games.

The annual Spirit Halloween celebration is an eagerly-awaited event for St. Mary’s Kids, who are challenged by a broad spectrum of medically complex conditions, including chronic illness, serious injury and complications of premature birth. Decked out in their Halloween costumes provided by Spirit Halloween and with smiling faces, St. Mary’s princesses, gremlins and super heroes enjoyed the holiday in grand style. The event concluded with a Costume Parade and dance party in the St. Mary’s Children’s Pavilion. Trick or treat gift bags were handed out by Spirit Halloween’s President and CEO, Steven Silverstein, who joined the festivities and helped St. Mary’s Kids create some extraordinary memories.

“We are thrilled to be with St. Mary’s kids,” said Steven Silverstein, Spirit Halloween president and CEO. “The Spirit of Children program is deeply important to me, our employees and the hospital staff we work with each season. We have the honor of bringing Halloween to kids who otherwise wouldn’t get to celebrate what is many kids’ favorite holiday. This is a mission our whole organization has rallied around – from the executive management team to the local stores who actually create the events and interact with the kids. But it’s really the reactions of the kids that has made this program the heart of Spirit Halloween.”

Launched in 2006, Spirit Halloween created the Spirit of Children program to bring Halloween fun to children in hospitals and to support Child Life programs.
