Joshua has been with St. Mary’s since 2000, when he was only 6 years old. He has a genetic disorder that prevents normal development in various parts of the body. Joshua walks with the help of a walker but he doesn’t let this – or anything else stop him from reaching his goal to be a chef.
This year, with the assistance of St. Mary’s Food Service Department and our certified therapeutic recreation specialists, Joshua apprenticed in the kitchen. He learned how to properly handle common kitchen utensils and appliances, how to follow a menu, and how to ensure kitchen cleanliness.
Joshua’s story continues to be one of inspiration for all our young patients.
