Early
Intervention
Early Intervention (EI) at St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children is an
integrated program designed to help children at risk for developmental delay maximize
their potential by addressing their psychological, cognitive, and developmental
needs.
Populations We Serve
We treat children from infancy to 3 years of age who face developmental, social,
emotional, or cognitive delays. Children must be residents of New York State,
but do not need to have United States citizenship and service eligibility has
no relationship to income level.
Programs and Services We Offer
The EI program offers comprehensive service coordination and planning in both
English and Spanish with a family-centered focus. An interdisciplinary team develops
an individualized plan for each child and arranges for all aspects of care and
related therapies. EI services are provided in:
St. Mary's facilities
- center-based classrooms
child's home
daycare center or nursery
schools
Services include:
Service Areas: All five boroughs of New York City and Westchester,
Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
