Extraordinary kids, extraordinary care
Children and their families come to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children to receive exception care, learn to manage their condition, and achieve a better quality of life.
The Hospital, located on nine acres of beautifully landscaped grounds adjoining Little Neck Bay, is the flagship of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, providing a continuum of post-acute programs and services for children throughout the metro NY area.
Children with special healthcare needs from birth to age eighteen receive intensive rehabilitation, education, and specialized medical care through our inpatient, homecare and community programs. St. Mary’s operates various long- and short-term home and community programs, a licensed home care services agency, a certified home healthcare agency, a specialized AIDS home care program, Early Intervention evaluations and services, and comprehensive case-management through Care At Home, Medicaid Service Coordination, and Nursing Homes Transition and Diversion Programs. Additional centers of excellence include Pediatric Day Healthcare Program, Center for Pediatric Feeding Disorders, the Institute for Child Development (early education, preschool and CPSE), and St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn, a dynamic therapy center and sensory integration facility.
St. Mary’s broad array of programs and services are designed to provide the most goal-oriented medical care that addresses all aspects of the healing process, while encouraging growth and independence. Multidisciplinary teams of pediatric specialists in medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, psychology, social work, and child development coordinate each child’s individualized care plan to ensure the most rewarding results.
St. Mary’s strives to help kids be kids. In addition to receiving medical care and rehabilitation therapies children attend school, participate in onsite and off-campus recreational activities, and are encouraged to socialize, play, and regain their independence.
