St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children’s “Everyday Miracles” Receives Two Telly Awards for Excellence

New York, NY - Two Telly Awards went to St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children and Suzy Shechtman Productions for “Everyday Miracles,” a short video showcasing St. Mary’s as a nationally renowned network of inpatient, outpatient and home-care services for children throughout the New York metropolitan area.These symbols of distinction were awarded to St. Mary’s and Suzy Shechtman in both the Non-Profit and Fundraising categories on June 12.

“Everyday Miracles” was produced in 2005 and highlights St. Mary’s work as a leading provider of comprehensive and compassionate care for children with complex medical conditions. Several severely disabled children’s stories were told highlighting the daily struggles these children and their families face, as well as their victories. While in St. Mary’s care, these children made miraculous strides toward living fuller lives.

Ms. Shechtman has made a career as a biographer and video producer. She received an Emmy award earlier this year for her documentary “The Hidden Life,” which traced the history of the Sisters of St. Mary, the founders of the St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.

Dr. Burt Grebin, CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, added; “This award is not only about Suzy’s outstanding work and dedication, it is also about the special nature of the subjects of the video: these amazing kids and the care they receive everyday.”

The Telly Awards honors the finest work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The 27 th Annual Telly Awards competition received over 12,000 entries from 50 states and five continents.

Suzy Shechtman Productions is a full service, multimedia organization that creates a full range of entertainment, commercial and personal video productions. Her award-winning work has run the gamut from personal family biographies to full-length documentaries. She also creates corporate and fundraising videos for non-profit organizations.
