When Realtor® Laura Copersino, President of the North East Queens Chapter of the Long Island Board of Realtors® (LIBOR) and Rosalie Labbate, Committee Chair, visited St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children in 2007, they were driven to help the 4,000 children with special needs that St. Mary’s cares for each day at the Hospital, at home, and in the community.

Encore Encore! It was the perfect ending to a day at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. The hospital was filled with eager patients, families, and staff, as they listened to the melodious sounds of three musical geniuses from The Julliard School of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

On Wednesday, May 6th, kicking off National Nurses Week, St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children recognized the hard work and dedication of all the nurses of St. Mary’s and commended them for the compassionate care they provide to patients.


Children of St. Mary’s always find a way to reach out and touch our hearts. Inspired by the Starworks Foundation creative expression in arts program, St. Mary’s kids put their deepest thoughts to paper, and in front of families and friends, read their published work from “The World I Know,” Starworks Anthology collection. Filled with mixed emotions, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the children each read their stories of hope and inspiration, ranging from poems, stories, essays, and drawings.
