Spirit Halloween Hosts Another Amazing Halloween Celebration for St. Mary’s Kids

On Wednesday, October 14, St. Mary’s Kids experienced Halloween in fine style courtesy of Spirit of Children, who treated the children to a lively fun-filled Halloween celebration. The Spirit of Children team provided a large array of spooky and stunning costumes, as well as decorations, and trick or treat bags for each child. The Halloween celebration included a variety of arts and crafts activities, as well as Face Painting. The Spirit volunteers also brought along two of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to spend some time with the Kids. The Rangers led the children on a loop around the playground for a costume parade.

Launched in 2006, Spirit Halloween created the Spirit of Children program to bring the joys of the year’s spookiest holiday to children in hospitals and rehabilitation centers who may not otherwise be able to join in Halloween festivities. Each year, Spirit’s volunteers visit the young patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children who are facing complex medical and life-limiting conditions due to serious illness, injury or complications of premature birth.

Prior to the visit, St. Mary’s kids get the opportunity to choose a costume of their choice from an array of their favorite animated life-like movie and TV characters, all generously donated by Spirit Halloween.

Special thanks to our guests Rick Tereo, the Director of Corporate Administration at Spencer Spirit Holdings, David Beige and Maria Morrell from Rubies and Juan Escobar and his team of young volunteers who joined in arts and crafts activities with St. Mary’s Kids, and helped to create a festive and auspicious celebration filled with the true Halloween spirit.
