Toddlers Graduate from St. Mary’s Preschool Program and Get Ready for the Big Leap to Kindergarten

Parents, Siblings, & Patient Families Beam with Joy as They Watch Toddlers Receive Diplomas

Toddlers of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children celebrated a monumental accomplishment as they marched down the aisle in a confident procession wearing their graduation sashes, ready to receive their preschool diplomas while their parents watched on with pride.

It was a day to celebrate as 30 students introduced by their individual teachers were each given a graduate diploma as their parents and families captured the moment with lots of pictures and plenty of hugs and kisses. The little graduates even gave the audience a little entertainment with their renderings of “Wheels on the Bus,” “Down on Grandpa’s Farm,” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”

Parents were particularly grateful to St. Mary’s compassionate caregivers and teachers who help St. Mary’s kids maximize their potential and develop every capability to his or her fullest at St. Mary’s Early Education/Preschool Program for children with special needs.

Education is at the heart of everything St. Mary’s does. St. Mary’s Preschool Program is committed to helping children with complex medical and life-limiting conditions make incredible gains and reach aspiring milestones, while fostering development and growth. The program gives special needs children from the community and St. Mary’s inpatient program the opportunity to interact, share ideas and learn with each other in a healing and educational environment.

“The children worked extremely hard to meet all of their goals and they really deserved to be honored by staff, parents, and everyone at St. Mary’s,” said Jean Steins, Director of Early Education at St. Mary’s. We are so proud of each and every one of them and know they are all destined for greatness in kindergarten and wherever life may take them.”
