Michael Weinbaum, VP of United Capital Corp Brightens Easter Sunday for St. Mary’s Kids

Michael Weinbaum Dresses up as the Easter Bunny as a Special Surprise for St. Mary’s Kids

Great Neck resident Michael Weinbaum, Vice President of Real Estate Operations for United Capital Corp, surprised young patients at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children on Easter Sunday dressed up as the Easter Bunny.

Dressed in a colorful purple vest with green buttons and a bright yellow bowtie, Michael was a large attraction at the Hospital as St. Mary’s kids eagerly awaited a visit from the infamous Easter Bunny.

“I’m just so happy I could make Easter day a little more special for the kids, parents and staff,” said Michael whose generosity is unlimited.

Michael will also be honored at St. Mary’s Annual Golf Outing on July 25, 2011 at Fresh Meadow Country Club for his outstanding efforts and dedication to serving St. Mary’s Kids, some of the region’s most seriously ill and injured children battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions.

Michael’s interest in St. Mary’s was piqued when learning of the heartfelt journey his friends, Robin and Kevin Portnoy and their family, experienced while their young son, Zachy, was cared for at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, one of the region’s leading providers of post-acute care for children with special needs and families.

Inspired by their story, Michael and his wife, Melissa, were eager to help St. Mary’s improve the health and quality of life for children and families with special needs, and since have been finding new ways to support St. Mary’s.

“Michael brought many smiles to the facility on Easter Sunday. He is a very kind hearted individual and I wish there were many more individuals in the world like him,” said Holly Potoeski, Manager of Therapeutic Recreation & Healing Arts Program at St. Mary’s.
