Queens Buisnessmen Raise $5,000 to Benefit St. Mary’s Kids

North Queens United’s Bowne Park Event Raises $5,000 to Benefit St. Mary’s Kids

Business professionals from the Queens area united to support a good cause- children with special healthcare needs.

North Queens United, an organization comprised of buisnessmen and women from the Queens region lending their support to the community, helped to raise $5,000 to benefit the young patients of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, a national leader in post-acute care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.

Spearheaded by Sal Bacarella of Garden Works in Flushing, NY and Louie Zuccarello of Queens Garden Nursery in Whitestone, the group hosted a Halloween festival at Bowne Park in Whitestone, NY, luring in thousands of participants to support thier efforts to raise funds and awareness for St. Mary’s kids, some of the region’s most seriously ill and injured children battling complex medical conditions.

The festive occasion sponsored by Garden Works, Queens Garden Nursery and various neighborhood businesses, included live music, a costume contest, face painting, pumpkin carving and Halloween activities.

The check was presented by Louie Zuccarello, Sal Bacarella, Gary Bonelli, Bonardi Construction Services Inc., Phil Zerillo, PZ Insurance, and Thomas De Vito. City Council Member elect Dan Halloran was also in attendance to congratulate the group for their diligent efforts.

North Queens United is already involved in planning future events in support of St. Mary’s, and is eager to come back and visit with the young patients of the bayside hospital.
