Bayside Kiwanis Club Chooses St. Mary’s as Last Charity Recipient Before Closing its Doors

Kiwanis Club Members Always Remember St. Mary’s Kids

After nearly 70 years, the Bayside Kiwanis Club is “closing its doors” and dispersing its remaining funds.

Joseph Madden, a Bay Terrace resident and a long-time member of the Club, stopped by St. Mary’s Hospital for Children this week to present a gift. On behalf of the Club, Mr. Madden stated, “We wanted to make sure one of Bayside’s most worthy causes was our last recipient.”

Unified by the vision of serving the children of the world, members of the Bayside Kiwanis have played a role in helping to provide quality care to the children of St. Mary’s.

With a heavy heart we will watch our Bayside Kiwanis friends close their doors, but we know they have preserved a legacy of generosity and goodwill that is truly untouchable. We take this opportunity to say a very special thank you for all their efforts.

Founded in 1915, Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers who combine their time and efforts to support children and young adults around the world. More than 600,000 members in over 70 countries address the emerging needs of the community through a number of developing programs and special initiatives.
