JIB Lanes’ “Friday Night Bash” Raises Funds for Kids of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

St. Mary’s Kids and Staff Joined Bowlers for a Night to Remember

Staff and children of St. Mary’s put on their bowling shoes and joined members of JIB Lanes for an unforgettable night of bowling on Friday, January 23rd, during “Friday Night Bash,” a night dedicated to St. Mary’s kids.

Bowlers across the area united at the Flushing bowling alley in an effort to help raise funds for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, one of the region’s largest providers of intensive rehabilitation, education, and specialized care for children with special needs.

Friday Night Bash welcomed all bowlers for only $10 and included games, raffles drawings, food, drinks, and a chance to hang out with some of the most extraordinary children in the New York area battling complex medical conditions. The friendly competitions turned into a night of laughter and jokes, and St. Mary’s kids had a blast.

JIB Lanes even accommodated the children of St. Mary’s with special bowling balls and other equipment adapted to fit their individual needs, like little Gabby, a burn victim who lost her hands. “Watching her bowl without hands was heart rendering but watching her courage gave us all a tremendous lift,” said Jim Santora from JIB Lanes.

At the end of the night St. Mary’s kids received a standing ovation from all bowlers, a moment that touched all of their hearts.

As part of the JIB LANES CARES PROGRAM created by John and Joe LaSpina, The group has been diligently supporting St. Mary’s kids and Friday’s event brought JIB’s total contribution to over $1900 in support of the vital programs and services serving the need of nearly 4,000 children and their families throughout the New York Metropolitan area. JIB Lanes is still going strong and they are committed to reaching above and beyond their goals.

“We feel privileged to be able to help spread joy to the kids of St. Mary’s,” added Mr. Santora.
