Smoking Motorcyles and Leather Jackets at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children

Valley Stream Bikers Revved Thier Engines All The Way To St. Mary’s to Donate Toys to the Kids of the Hospital

Santa Clause isn’t the only one bringing toys this holiday season. More than 70 bikers from Valley Stream rode their motorcycles to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children on Sunday, October 26th, where they donated over hundreds of toys to the kids of St. Mary’s, some of New York’s most seriously-injured children battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions.

“Everyone loved interacting with the kids and they’re already asking to come back next
year. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet such remarkable children
and to be able to make them happy during the holidays,” said Judy Kojamanian from
Valley Stream who rounded the group of bikers in effort to give back to St. Mary’s, one
of the region’s largest providers of intensive rehabilitation, specialized care, and
education for children with special needs, a place that inspired her and her family.

Both Judy and her daughter, Loren, went to school at St. Mary’s Childcare Technician
Nursing program, and was so touched by their experiences at the hospital, that Judy thought there was no better place to give back to than St. Mary’s. “My daughter worked at St. Mary’s for a while and has now decided to go to nursing school after working with those children. That just shows you how much inspiration St. Mary’s has, from the staff to the children,” said Judy.

The bikers lined up their Harley Davidsons revving their engines, as the kids of St.
Mary’s eagerly waited to see a burnout. The bikers didn’t hesitate to let the kids sit on the
bikes and take pictures. “The kids really got a kick out of the motorcycles and they were
so excited to meet everyone and see all the cool toys we brought. It was such a pleasure
to see their smiling faces and we’re definitely coming back next year bigger and better,”
said Judy.
