While walking to school in May of 2007, 13-year old Rosie Lawrence was hit by an out-of-control car. Rosie was rushed to the hospital where doctors told her mother that she had serious internal injuries and needed surgery to remove her spleen. Doctors thought Rosie would never walk again.
